Just a quick post today.

Great news, I have had a real Spanish Person tell me that they are impressed with just how much of their language I have learnt in just two weeks. They even understood what I said! I was working with some students today and mentioned what I was doing with Spanish.

At the end of my session this poor girl was paraded before me with the statement "Here, she is Spanish, say something!" Well what do you say? Once I had got passed "Hola, Que tal, Me llamo Michael, como te llamas" I ended up switching back to English (she spoke it perfectly) and then reeled off a list of phrases that I had learnt.

I think I just discovered that if I am crap at conversation in English then I am going to be crap in conversation in Spanish LOL!!

I did learn though that I should be ready to take advantage of every opportunity I get to speak with a Spanish speaking native to practice my conversation and ask questions about things which are not clear to me. For example I have discovered that the word "to spell" is deletrear and I would love to know how to pronounces especially because there is an accent on the last e.

So more great learns for me today and I am sure more to come. Keep on learning that Spanish, I know you can do it and please do drop me a line to tell me how you are getting on.
