How To Learn Spanish For Free - Day 31
Well just 3 days left of my learn Spanish experiment, including today.
I thought I would just jot down some thoughts on how I feel my attempt to learn as much Spanish as I possibly can in just 33 days has gone.
It has been a really interesting experience. As a specialist in applying accelerated learning principles to a variety of situations and problems I have over the years been asked many times about how I would apply my knowledge to learning a language. When asked I have given considered answers based on what I think would work really well.
Of course because I hadn't learnt to speak another language my ideas and suggestions were hyperthetical and theoretical or recounting other people's experience although I expected them to work.
Now that I have been in the trenches and wrestling with grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, you do get a different perspective. I have had to refine some of my ideas, I have realised that some are impractical and discovered new ways I have not seen used elsewhere in this context.
I have also been tremendously impressed with the quality of the resources that are available for free and do think that it is possible for anyone to become fluent just using these resources. There is a lot of rubbish out there but the best free stuff is at least as good, if not better in some ways, than products you might be spending hundreds of dollars for.
This is the start of my journey to become proficient in Spanish and now that my experiment is drawing to a close I am really excited about the prospects ahead. I shall be using some paid for stuff to help accelerate my progress and to compare them against the free learn Spanish stuff, but I shall continue to use and look for more free stuff because the variety of inputs is a crucial factor in developing proficiency in the language.
Over the coming weeks and months I intend to share with you what I have learnt on my blog here. If you have any questions do ask them using the comment box here.
