“Who Else Wants To Take Just 33 Days To Learn Another Language… And Do It For Free?”

In light of the recent news that numbers of pupils taking Modern European Languages in the UK have halved since 2001 I am setting out to see just how hard it is to learn to speak Spanish giving myself only 33 days to do it and only using free resources available from the internet.

My name is Michael Tipper and I am a Wiltshire based author, speaker and learning/memory specialist who came second in the 1998 World Memory Championships and I am aiming to apply my knowledge and experience of using the brain more effectively to learn Spanish. 

At school I also shunned modern languages because I allowed a spotty, immature adolescent (i.e. me!) to decide that German and French were not worth the effort.  It also didn’t help that at the time the lessons then were completely uninspiring and certainly tedious.  However, as I have got older I’ve realised that having proficiency in at least one other language is a must.  

My own  research into learning and the effective  use of  memory that I have applied in other areas of both business and education,  means I’ve discovered  that with the right motivation, a clear objective and the correct  know-how – anyone can learn just about anything, do it quickly and easily and even enjoy the process.

So whilst thousands of our teenagers are opting out of learning a language, I am going to opt in and attempt to Learn Spanish in just 30 days,  applying what I have discovered about accelerated learning, AND do it for nothing just using websites and free resources available on the internet.
